About Agency

The history of LPR dates back to 1973 when Ola Laiho and Ilpo Raunio began collaborating in Pekka Pitkänen’s architectural office. Mikko Pulkkinen joined in 1976. The current partners are all long-term employees. The office has designed dozens of challenging projects commissioned by the government, local authorities, public institutions and private clients.

LPR adopts a respectful attitude to history and existing architecture. Their goal is to bring out the genius loci while embracing a contemporary identity. The office has designed numerous prestigious projects including churches, museums, schools and government buildings. LPR’s idiom is subtle and timeless, yet its solutions are bold and inventive, utilizing a gradually expanding palette of forms, colours and materials.
